The Lark Ascending is a work by the English composer Ralph Vaughan Williams in 1920, inspired by George Meredith's 122-line poem of the same name about the skylark.

Orated by myself, (so apologies there), as I couldn't find a clip anywhere that combined this beautiful piece of music and the poem that inspired it. So very English Countryside!

Oh it did, it did! My favourite piece of music - so ethereal and filled with grace. It pulls my heartstrings every time I hear it. And you enhanced it wonderfully with that poem and your lovely rendering. The diction was near perfect - entirely matching the music. I was moved to tears ...............
