Many communications service providers offer IP phone services that allow PC users to make and receive calls through software installed on their PCs. However, most softphones only support services provided by the service provider. BIZTEL P-Free is a new type of softphone offered by M2X, Japan's first voice-over-Internet-protocol service provider. It supports use with multiple communications service providers, allowing users to access multiple IP phone services simply by registering them with BIZTEL P-Free. BIZTEL P-Free, which works with Windows Vista, is embedded with a sound engine by Global IP Sound for high-quality voice communication. The softphone also allows users to easily import Outlook and Outlook Express address books. M2X will launch online sales for 8,000 yen per license in July.
