Dallas Police Senior Corporal Norman S. Smith was born June 14, 1965 and died in the line of duty on January 6, 2009. Service was 11AM Friday January 9, 2009 at the Potter's House in Dallas Texas. He was laid to rest at Restland Cemetery also in Dallas Texas. Thousands of Police Officers from all over Texas and some from other states like Oklahoma City Police attended the service. Ordinary citizens also attended the service along with Firefighters and other public safety officials. They then lined the streets as the funeral procession passed by from West Dallas to North Dallas. The freeway was shut down and people got out of their cars to watch as it passed by.

  • @SykoDaveMC Yes I will remove any rude/inappropriate comment about police or this officer out of respect to the family, Dallas Police and all Police Officers. It is my right to edit and control comments or not even allow the on my channel. I made this video to show my respect for the Smith family and Dallas Police.

  • This guy was in my dream. When I woke up, I saw his memorial on The First 48. Big guy, with baby-blue polar-bear eyes. I dreamt we were in a room filled with video-games, too. I don't know why he came to me, oh well.

  • I served with Cpl Smith in the Marine Corps from 1986 to 1987. I knew him there as Cpl Smith, ironically that was his rank working with the Dallas PD. Norm was a special type of guy, as a young Marine, he took me under his wing and I am very thankful for all the lessons he taught me. To his family I offer my deepst symphaty. I saw his rememberence on the 1st 48 hours the other night. Rest in peace my brother! Eric Shedd SSgt USMC retired. Semper Fi Cpl Smith, keep em in line Marine.
