Years and years of practice.

This is definitely the most metrically complex song I've written. I knew that I wanted to have something a little off-beat while still keeping it groovin'. The "who do you think you are" section is in 7/8 (with one measure of 8) and the chorus of the song follows an 11/8, 9/8, 9/8, 11/8 pattern.

And yes, a little bit like Message In A Bottle.
