these people critcizing is just pissing me off!!! They dont get the fact that 90% of real life pilots use flight simulator!!!

To all the haters out here, why is that the FAA has certified FSX as a training aid?
I fly real planes and I use FSX as additional training without the expense of Avgas.
There is nothing like getting in a real plane and flying, but keeping your skills sharp on a simulator is not a bad idea at all. ... hey, it's fun too.

@boatsboy34 But lives are saved, which more than makes up for what is destroyed...thanks for letting me know!!

i am a pilot and fly the cirrus, the plane is totaled when the chute is deployed due to the stresses on the airframe. Also the landing gear and seats are designed to crush on impact landing, which furthermore destroys the plane. all main structural components and somehow damaged. so basically there is no sense to fix it if you deploy the chute because you destroy too much.

@boatsboy34
Ok, thanks for the info. Too bad it will be totaled, but it saves lives : )

Very cool...the SR22 is an amazing piece of aircraft, but: is it true that, if you deploy the chute in a real-life emergency situation that the plane is ruined (no longer usable)? Not a big deal obviously, since you can't put a price on the lives that might be saved...I was just wondering.....thanks!!

@sdmascital I think the plane may survive the parachute deplyment depending on the g-forces of the parachute distorts the fuselage. But also the ground landing is a problem.. I would consider you sending a mail to Cirrus and asking for this ! And if you do, post the answer here? :D
