On August 13, 2010 Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) read a statement and answered questions on ethics charges brought against her. The Office of Congressional Ethics alleges that she inappropriately used her office to secure a meeting regarding what would later become TARP funding for OneUnited -- a bank her husband was a board member of from 2004 to 2008 and was a stock holder in at the time of the meeting.
We live-blogged it at: http://blog.sunlightfoundation.com/2010/08/13/live-rep-maxine-waters-defends-...
If one could buy her for what she is worth and sell her for what she thinks she is worth, a lot of money could be made.

Socialism and the constitution don't mix.The fact that this woman is in washington is proof of rampant treason and many, many who violated their oath. The treason and criminality that sickens washington and the world is the fault of people who should never have been trusted to call themselves citizens. My useless countrymen if you quote the law to one those S-bags in washington or any other government these days, they will ignore you.Yes they will, they are not like you.You decided to be nothing FTW

Wow, these bankers actually thought that investing in the common stock of Fannie and Freddie Mack were guaranteed by the federal government? These idiots shouldn't be running a bank, much less should regulators be bailing out banks like these. Holy crap I'm in shock that this argument was even made, much less formed part of the basis for getting TARP funds.
