Bernardo, who would you say wer overrated singers in the 50s? I agree w u just curious to know.

I like this Domingo performanance though I wouldn't say he's the best. Technically he's not a perfect Bel Canto singer. His method and touch is special and graceful. The voice attack is clear and makes the performance very dynamic. Not just loud as some overrated singers in 50's. He's one of the most gifted singers in the last century. Last but the least, the climax is emotional and appropriate.

Partially agree with you. Pavarotti had the higher notes and the smooth flow while Domingo has the seductive power of the Heldentenors. Caruso has them both beat (by thier own admission) Agreed with Domingo and this preformance. Bravo Placi!

(Applauding) Bravo! Bravo! Simply delightful.
The tenor gives a stunning performance, while the orchestra is clearly exceptional.

they say lanza or pavarotti were better in pagliacci but i think domingo rocked it the best

the 2 dislikes can go blank themselves

Isso é tão tocante! Adoro Placido!
''Ah! Ri Palhaço,
sobre o teu amor partido.
Ri da dor
que te envenena o coração! ''

Domingo knocks Pavarotti and almost every other Tenor into the back of the net. I find Pavarotti overly loud, his ability to impress the public was purely his gusto, when he sings he is as stiff as a board. Domingo on the other hand stirs about and sings from his heart to your spirit. Pavarotti sings fro his lungs to your ears.
Bravo Domingo!

Enrico Caruso would've been so proud of him, I believe?
Bravo... bravisimo... la mejor interpretacion Placido se entrego por completo... para tenerlo en el mejor museo del mundo...

I like his performance on the pagliacci movie better.
But with no doubt he is the best one singing it.
He gives an emotion that the other tenors don't.
