@patkawasaki ya, Prefab's first two albums 'Swoon' and 'Two Wheels Good' were wondrously devoid of cheesy 80s synth and drum sounds, like this track. Check those albums out, if you haven't; some of the best pop from the 80s, bar none, though I stopped following them on their third album, when they switched to the heavily dated 80s sound. 'swoon' and 'two wheels' are timeless, and both are quite different. 'Wheels' was produced by Thom Dolby, but is deliciously sparse, and no DMX...

I always felt the plucked strings represented cat whiskers too!! Just goes to show what ultra-geniuses Paddy and Thomas Dolby are. Absolutely heartbreaking song. Always particularly special since my mother's maiden name is Nightingale:)

Brettledotcom I thought that cartoon cats and the strings things was just coincidence now I know it is pure genius from Paddy once again thanks for that!! John the lowery he says in his interviews that they had get someone who was good on harminoca Stevie would be the man for that!!

Amen and Amen I Love Prefab Sprout. They have made some of the most beautiful music ever made. Class! We are cartoon cats.....followed by plucked strings to represent cats whiskers.
