Our garden railway with a cab's eye view as filmed by our friend Gary when he was visiting us last Sunday! Finally have the FULL circuit finished and we just need to (Tim needs to) finish off some sidings.

  • Fun trip! :) It sounds like the locomotive is running on something similar to a lawnmower engine. Do you happen to know the specs? (Or can Tim chime in?)

  • @LeprechaunGangster It's not a lawnmower, that's for sure ;). This isn't our engine, so I'm not sure what it is, but most of Tim's steam engines actually run on real steam ;). The battery engines we have just have a small motor in them...though some of the larger scales (like 5 inch, 7 inch, etc) probably do use lawnmower engines!

  • Thanks Jenn! Sadly, no Tim talking on this one :p

  • @beccajanestclair - It belonged to Gary , who took the video. It's a commercial model of a 2'6" diesel switcher built for the Royal Navy and now in retirement on a heritage line in Wales (a friend of ours drives it regularly). The sound chip is a bit of a mismatch, being for a full-size diesel loco of British Rail class 37, but nothing more appropriate was available.

  • That is so neat! I love model train sets!
