We now KNOW that the dust was toxic, and that whatever "tests" he was referring to could not have been accurate a were probably made up.

Volunteers and first responders are DYING from the exposure.

Why was it so important to hurry and clean up, and why no protective gear?

There's worse things than asbestos exposure. If an asbestos worker gets injured in an abatement project, paramedics go right in the containment. The danger from asbestos is lower than the immediate hazard to the injured person. 9/11 for the first two weeks was a rescue mission, trying to saved trapped people. The asbestos danger was secondary to that.

Well, you have to remember one thing... in those early days it was all pandemonium and any normal considerations of safety precautions were immediately discarded. Sure, the EPA and Giuliani downplayed the threat. Simply put, people should have been more prepared but they weren't.... And no, you cannot trust the government to tell it to you straight.

The reoccupancy level for asbestos in the air is .01 fibers per cubic centimeter. Saying "no exposure level is safe" isn't the same as "any exposure is deadly" Everyone in America has asbestos in their lungs, most of us will not die from it.

sleepy2 is delusional.  google the permissible exposure limit for asbestos and multiply that by the asbestos cloud floating around ground zero. asbestos is literally microscopic barbwire it can't be pulverized or destroyed any in any way. There is no herbal cure or homeopathic cure for asbestosis or mesothelioma..
