The Caldari come off more as the Soviet Union rather than the United States, just replace communism with capitalism.

Go Comedy Central! :D

@FnordPerfect Quasi-medieval theocratic ultra-conservatives and their re-inventing space-flight after the Dark Ages. Puh!

Hehe, for the sake of the caldari, lets "OCCUPY JITA"! No more crony capitalism. :)

Gallente= USA/EU
Caldari= USA/Japan/Libya

@worldofdraculas Not really, their system is completely different in that the corporations ARE the government. Its the difference between government owning corporations, and the corporations owning the government.

@FnordPerfect what ever the intro says, the caldari are facists, and i like facist because they always have neit looking armys (Whermacht, Italian state army, The Helghast(from killzone)), thats why they are my fav's.XD
I can't help it, but the Caldari are my favourites. The Amarr are just a bunch of quasi-medival theocratic ultra-conservatives, the Minmatar are a bunch of hippie losers, and the Gallente are the typical Starbucks-drinking iCrap-using holier-than-thou shmucks. The Caldari however remind me of a good old Heinlein novel such as Starship Troopers, of the Starcraft Terrans, or of the Alien films. THIS is the kind of science fiction I love!

Actually, by definition 'fascism' encompasses both economic and political systems, combining a single-party rule (can be any number of takes on totalitarianism) along with heavy corporatism focused on nationalistic goals. Think of it as capitalistic totalitarianism.
Also, I'd like to point out to a lot of people on here:
Democracy, Totalitarianism, etc = Political systems
Capitalism, Communism, etc = Economic systems (Yes, you can have democratic communism)
