District 9 Fan Video - 1280p

A short video inspired by the film District 9, by Neil Blomkamp and Peter Jackson. This is not part of the film, it is a fan video. I am a visual effects artist and really liked the visual effects of the film, so I took it upon myself to recreate one of the shots from the film, and this is the product of that endeavor.

This video wasnt made following an aetuts tutorial. The video took around a week to put together, not working on it full time. 3ds max was used for helicopter pass, afx for compositing, phptochop for spaceship. Thanks for comments!

no, the camera shake was all part of the video. it was shot that way. that's why I made a tracking grid, so I could 'grade' the quality of the tracking. this was after I had used the computer to do a first pass of the tracking. then several passes by hand were done, which was necessary to do - due to the bridge completely covering up the clouds that i was tracking.

nice! could you explain me how is the better way to add atmospheric fog? u use a gradient or...? and wich modes of fusion (screen, add, multiply, etc). Sorry about my english...
