SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE
For BURMA
• Full packs will have to be put in large freezer bags
• Student Packs (2 hours)
o 8 notebooks, 5 blue pens, 5 pencils, 2 erasers
• Teacher Packs (2 hours)
o 4 packs of chalk, 1 pack of A4 paper, 1 pack of carbon paper, 1 pair of scissors, 5 blue pens, 5 red pens, 1 stapler, 1 pack of staples
• ALL SUPPLIES MUST BE IN NEW AND UNUSED CONDITION
• Limit of 2 service hours can be earned through supplies only, but more donations are welcome (and encouraged); there are no service hours for loose supplies
• There will be a pack-making day held after school one day to put together all the supplies into kits, service hours can be earned then too
• Even people who don't need service hours are encouraged to donate any supplies they have and/or go buy
• Drop off supply packs and loose supplies at CT 214, and if you want service hours for your pack, label the supplies with your name and grade on a sticky note on the bag

So... about BURMA, why school supplies and why are there refugee camps?
• We're giving school supplies because school running costs have been a burden to communities because of acute poverty, lack of food, poor health and displacement due to Burmese military aggression.
o We want to help provide the opportunity for education
• The people that we're helping are in refugee camps because the current government regime is notorious for its violation of human rights and has traumatized Burmese ethnic groups (Karen, Karenni, Mon, Rohingya) with forced military labor, drug trade, violence etc.
o As a result, these groups and others try to seek refugee away from Burma
