New dining facility opens on the South 40 At the new dining facility at Washington University, students can feast on food from around the globe, grown right here in the Midwest. The new state-of-the-art facility, which opened Aug. 26, 2010, on the South 40 campus, offers a plethora of food options- from Mongolian grill to burgers and fries- to the increasingly diverse university community. Though the menu comes from across the world, much of the food comes from sources close to campus. Using locally sourced food minimizes the eatery's impact on greenhouse gas emissions, supports local food producers, and allows WUSTL to maximize the amount of fresh food available to the campus community.
