The movements in the horse's neck shows us a lot about the horse's level of carrying. We want the horse to stabilize the bottom of the neck (C6-T1) in a lifted position, with the nose approaching vertical and the ears moving forwards-downwards.

It is also important that the hind leg makes a V with the foreleg as the foreleg lifts from the ground (tho show a good 4-beat tact).
