Youth Group is a short film that briefly shows moments in the lives of five second-generation Muslim American adolescents as they struggle to find a balance between their culture and that of their immigrant families. The film sheds light on the diverse lifestyles of Muslim Americans that is often overshadowed by stagnant expectations and stereotypes. Through this simple production we hope to encourage different community to follow the prophetic tradition and be more inclusive, understanding and tolerant.
We also call on community leaders and teachers to explore new frameworks of education and guidance that would be more compatible with the new emerging generations, in hopes of helping our youth become more productive and successful. We hope that our production is thought provoking and entertaining.
ELMO Productions is an amateur movie production group composed entirely of volunteers based in Tucson, AZ.
