Spanish Troubadours is a folk group based in Madrid that continues a very old tradition of minstrels of the Spanish university. Dressed in the typical clothing of the Iberian students of the 16th and 17th centuries, our band of troubadours use their instruments, which are commonly found in Spanish folklore, along with each man's powerful yet gentle voice, to entertain the masses and, more importantly, to win the hearts of women.
Our repertoire includes genres from Spain such as pasodobles (usually played in bullfights) and pasacalles (performed under a balcony for courting a lady). We also play other styles with strong Latin American roots. All of these typical rhythms have been arranged to our choral male voices, lutes, bandurrias, tambourines and different kinds of guitars, obtaining a very special and original sound. Some of our songs include cape and tambourine dancing, inspired by bullfighting passes and by the art of juggling.
