Investigated ratcheting with a Doepfer MAQ16/3. Something which seems easy with a Synthesizers.com Q960 sequencer. Found out that it can be done on a Doepfer MAQ16/3 but it is not as flexible as with an Q960 setup.

  • nice trick, never use this but that will change you also could archive the effect with lengthen and shorten row 3 I think? btw I have now 3 maq 16/3,s:-)

  • It is not so easy to do it right. I think I did this video 5 times before getting it right. The problem is switching the events from 't4.' to 't.4.' because they are 3 ticks on the dial apart. And the switching has to be done on the first 3 steps. I think it is easier to switch programs. You could also try to shorten and lenghten row 3 but I don't know if this remains consistant with row 1. Also this trick only works with the CV and gate outputs; not with the MIDI output. Collecting MAQ's? ;-)
