Abandoned BAC Quad Cinema

This is the former BAC Quad Cinema. It was built in 1966 with one auditorium that could seat 800. In the 1980s 3 more smaller auditoriums along with a new box office and concession stand were added. Mine subsidence caused structure damage in the 1990s. A crack can be seen in the wall in one photo. The theater closed in 2000. The last picture is an operation drive inn next door. The drive inn is demolishing the theater to make room for a third screen

i would have have taken the star wars muriel..i remember me and some friends got into and old theater one time and got a lot of great stuff.sometime i cant belive they leave equipment behind i got some really big speakers and a couple of amps.and a couple of movie posters

@musicman257 Ya we thought about it but it was heavy. ya they had all the speakers and projectors sitttin in the main lobby. they all looked still good so im guess in they sold them.

@girlygirlz09 ya we found abunch of old movie posters that star wars muriel at the end old film and lots of it old projectors and random stuff too. it was a good time

Thanks for sharing. But it breaks my heart to see the big, original theater like that. So many good memories. Saw everything from Star Wars (the first time around) to Saving Private Ryan... and so much more.

It is being demolished right now 12-21-2010 the main theater is gone, it was a great theater too bad it is gone.
