A few years ago, I asked what all the body damage to this guy's car was. There were huge bubbles of paint separating. He told me he worked for a coal-fired plant and the acid produced by it rained down on his car in the parking lot. Hopefully they have improved that a whole lot, but I can't say. Acid rain is a real phenomenon to be reconded with.
