'Facades' - Part 5 of 'Glassworks' - Philip Glass:

'Glassworks is a chamber music work of six movements by Philip Glass. It is regarded as being a characteristically Glass-like work. Following his larger-scale concert and stage works, Glassworks was Philip Glass' successful attempt to create a more pop-oriented "Walkman-suitable" work, with considerably shorter and more accessible pieces written for the recording studio.'

  • this music captures the feelings of day to day life among people who live behind projections of themselves, like crabs peeking from inside their shells, longing to see past the other's shell! you only get glimpses

  • A friend told me to check out Glassworks, so I thought I'd do so while trying to write this paper for En 300. I haven't written a damn thing. Every movement makes me close my eyes and lose myself. Every single one.

  • its scary...but beautiful ....

  • I don´t think this is a "pop-oriented "Walkman-suitable" work". Ok, this is not Einstein on the Beach, but it´s vintage Glass. Love this track, it´s so peaceful.

  • This music resonates and makes one with your soul because it is the music that matches everyone's simple, dayly life. Simple, repetitive and yet, there's isn't anything more powerful, brilliant and beautiful as one single human life.

  • . . . this music still haunts me years later . . . so beautiful and so far away

  • Rogue Male! Wonderful.

  • the best music!!
