  • I would love to hear one day Tim Freedman and Ben Folds sing a song together :)

  • <3

  • of course the live version is 1000 times better than the album version. Tim freedman your voice is like conversation made harmonios. Beautiful shit

  • Sydney, 1998, great music and memories

  • Love the album !!

    Greets from Belgium !

  • I would love The Whitlams to do a tour of NZ. Not very known here but I lived in Aus for 10 years and really loved you guys. We have just had an earthquake in Christchurch. Maybe an option to come way down under?

  • yeh the recording has strings but i think this version has a different arrangement.

  • This one is specifically about the last time he saw Stevie Plunder before he died of a heroin overdose. Charlie #3 (BNPL and #3 from Eternal Nightcap) is about the day he died. God Drinks at the Sando and Blow Up The Pokies (from Love This City) are about Andy's gambling addiction. The Curse Stops Here (from Little Cloud) is about Andy's death, and being the last surviving original Whitlam.

  • it's not about andy, this song was released in 1997, before andy died (2000) and had only just left the band

i'm pretty sure it's about stevie and his heroin addiction

either that or another of tim's friends with a heroin addiction

  • When i saw him live he said that charlie represented several of his friends that killed themselves or died or were close to it.
