Wow, this is a really horribly quality recording. I'm sure it would be better if it didn't sound like it came off a 20 year old VHS tape that was left in the sun for too long.

Boy I would think ferocity queen might have had a point (and may have even been ferocious...-gasp!-) if not for arguing just for the sake of argument. Listening to any compositions Ihsahn takes part in you can tell his classical influences...anyways let's all just sit around and argue about the various jazz and progressive touches and about the finer etiquette of details! You're so wrong.Progressive is the attitude a musician has towards the music-exploring new themes and soundscapes,tending to improvisation and/or interpreting known themes in a new fashion.Dream Theatre are more jazz-orientiered,and especially Symphony X have a lot classical influences.Which has nothing to do with "weirdness".
