Author of 'Bottomfeeder; How to Eat Ethically in a World of Vanishing Seafood' sits down with Jian Ghomeshi to talk about the right and wrong way to eat seafood. Believe it or not, McDonald's fillet-o-fish passes the test, ethically speaking anyway.
by far this has been the most important book on the sea enviroment i've ever read. it makes ground level connections in the reality of unsustainabilty at all levels. this should be required reading in the school system, then and only then will we have a chance to save what little we have. thanks taras for the book. is it available in spanish?

the t.grescoe explains things in the book there is no reason to believe he's exaggerating. the loss of fish stocks will have all of us eating any kind of finned creatures including the un-thinkable. sewer bred mullet. we are in very serious do-do

i'm reading the book and it makes alot of sense. i'm puzzled with the oyster. it's filtering vast amounts of toxins, doesn't that get passed directly to the consumer? a sport fisherman i'm pretty responsible.
my target fish is the european seabass, ( in the med.)which is a cousin of the striper. is it also in trouble?
