April 12 Winnipeg Scientology Protest - Operation Reconnect

Anonymous in Winnipeg protest against the abuses and practices of the Church of Scientology. Entitled Operation Reconnect, this worldwide protests against the organization's ruthless policy of Disconnections, in which Scientologists are forced to cut off all ties with friends and family antagonistic to Scientology.

We had a turnout of about 30 people. Skullkid was great blasting away music combining his car stereo system and a megaphone. We accomplished a lot on the (road) median because flyers can easily be distributed to drivers there, but the cops came and kicked us off (via a law similar to squeegee kids not being allowed there).

Later on, an older fellow accompanied by a lady (both dressed in cowboy hats) arrived. The older man had some some of karaoke system and microphone, and started spewing off jibberish I couldn't quite understand. Some of us believe he and that woman were scientologists trying to disrupt us, but none of us know for sure. Suspected Scilon then started dancing to the music and looking into some of our bags, then eventually leaving.

CTV'S Murray Oliver stopped by to visit us, and he was great hanging with us and taking the time to actually understand us. He spoke with our resident old guard from Vancouver, onehuman, and our local ex-scientologist.

Near the end of the day, some Anonymous chose to take a picture with the USSR flag and national anthem (taken in another vid).

Yup, been doing it every month since February. The next one is on Saturday, January 17th.

Anonymous is just a group of iconclastic individuals who are trying to stop people from crossing the bridge to total freedom.This is nothing new,there have been beings on this planet trying to torment the human soul for a long time.They dont want you to be free.They want the world to stay the way it is today...dying.

What folks like anonymous hate is other people surviving better and growing spiritually,it affects them so deeply just like pouring salt on a slug.

How could you possibly generalize Anonymous the same way one would generalize an entire nationality? Anonymous come from all walks of life. Perhaps there would exist some Anonymous like you describe, who are miserable enough to make Scientologists miserable. But there also exists people like myself (and many other Scientology critics out there) who protest the MANAGEMENT and POLICIES, not beliefs, of Scientologists. If you're gonna talk about Anonymous, talk about them right.
