@ThingsTerrestrial Yeah, I see it's in the Olivier Special as well, all inclusive I suppose in the Melvyn Bragg library.

@LowellV100 : As well it's from "Ralph Richardson: An Actor's Life" by Garry O'Connor...

@ThingsTerrestrial That's a quote from Melvyn Bragg's program on Alec Guinness

@Ecksntrick8 You're 33 years old and the best you can do is be a YouTube moron?? I bet you think the D'oyly Carte is a wagon full of napkins.

I'm glad that in the Muse of Fire speech he pronounced "puissance" in the correct, metrical (trisyllabic) way. Many actors today, including highly acclaimed Shakespeareans, who have little ear for the verses' music, insist on pronouncing it Frenchly, with two syllables, contrary to the rhythm of the line. So, good on Gielgud! (Another similar mistake is "aspect", which in Shakespeare is always on the first syllable, including the Peasant Slave speech.)

does anyone know the name of this peace?
Kevin Spacey's impersonation:
"Oh, I went to school you know... Trained for years and years."
