  • Lots of other schools have won gold in team dancing for the US.

  • Can you name any other U.S. Irish dance schools that have won gold medals in team dancing before this year in the world championships?

  • Yes-The Claddagh School in California.

  • Really? I thought that this year was the first time that Claddagh won a team gold in World's. What other years did they win? Mark Howard also said that Trinity has won only seven world gold medals in team dancing - but that number is now up to nine. I really don't believe that "lots of other schools have won gold in team dancing for the US". Up until this year, no other school in the U.S. besides Trinity has won a gold medal in world team dancing competitions.

  • The Claddagh school in Ca has won the 8 hand a few times so Trinity is not the only "team" to win. They are the only choreography team to do so. I think that part of it has to do with the fact the its expensive to get that many kinds over to the UK for Worlds. Those kids work hard and deserve their kuddos but it bothers me that the media ignores the other fabulously talented dance teachers and the pupils around the country.

  • @tigeress407 Actually he did!!! I was there :-)

  • I happen to dance at Trinity and no the media is not ignoring the other dance schools around the United States, this was a Chicago hi-lite and therefore since Trinity had the most dancers going to Belfast I think that it was deserved that the people not aware about Irish Dance in Chicago got to see what we were all about and how committed our dancers are.

  • i was at belfast competing with them, they were amazing!

  • wow there out standing :O

  • Kudos to Trinity...and all of the other companies that contribute to Irish Dance.

And to "Irishdancer 1989"...a special thank you for being one of the dancers who helped to promote general audience awareness. Thank you sincerely
