You were unable to tell because early embryonic development of humans and other animals are virtually indistinguishable. That alone demonstrates the absurdity of the claim that human embryos should be treated as human beings when even adult animals are not.
If you argue that a human embryo has the POTENTIAL to become a human then by that logic you are committing mass murder every time you jack off since each sperm could be come a human being if combined with an egg.
