What isn't highlighted in this piece are the voices of people who are still waiting to get their (ancestral) land back.
Remember that during apartheid from 1948 on, 87% of the country was given to 10% of the population because of their race, and nothing else.
So for Lawrence McKrystal to act as if he has all the time in the world, and can make demands on the 'quality' of farmer who can take over, only sets him up for a Zimbabwean style land takeover.
