Demo of a 2009 SG Classic and a Reeves 50. Recorded in iMovie with the internal mic. Quality is not good and the playing is lethargic. Nonetheless, you get the idea

  • Awesome! Do you recommend those p90 over humbuckers? How about the hum problem? Does it get less when you keep a certain distance and angle to your amp? Is the hum way worse than with regular fender single coils?

    Thanks!

  • @bille77

P-90's hum, but not too bad. They are great pickups for rock and blues, well, really anything.

  • Awesome video! Thanks for posting this. I was very curious about the Reeves 50 PS. How do the cleans sound at low room volumes, and does the 1x12 cab push enough air to play outside. Hoping this amp can do a multitude of situations. Everything you could tell me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • @SumKallMeTIM I use my two Reeves amps for the "rock" gigs I do. I really can't think of any brand of amp that would do a better job, frankly. They have incredible headroom, and with the PS feature, you can really wind them up and roar!

The Reeves 1x12 cab (VP speaker) is a thing of beauty. It actually does a decent 4x12 imitation due to its ported design. The VP speaker needs some time to break in. It sounds better now than it does in this vid, after I played it for the last year.

  • Good to see you back at it....great tone...great guitar.

  • @lespaul10

  • I want one of these so bad. Never have enough money for it though

  • and Live at Leeds was the mind-blowing factor that made me start playing guitar and become a huge WHO fan! EVERY rock and roll performance should be more like that concert! and if anyone is interested ill be making CP-103/CP-504 DR-103 and DR-504 heads with all original components, but with even better transformers

  • HOT DAMN! FINALLY! SOMEONE GIVING A HIWATT/REEVES/HYLIGHT DEMO THE WAY ITS SUPPOSED TO!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU SIR!
