This video presents a behind-the-scenes look at the Contemporary Arts Center's exhibition 'Shinji Turner-Yamamto: Disappearances' and insight into the artist's process.

Part of a two-site regional project, 'Disappearances' was accompanied by 'Hanging Garden,' the artist's dual tree installation at an abandoned chapel (located in the Mount Adams neighborhood of Cincinnati). For the exhibition at the CAC, Turner-Yamamoto used plaster and paint chips gathered at the chapel to create a sculptural installation and a series of gilded paintings presented as a linear constellation on the gallery walls.

A big thank you to Ethan Philbrick who is responsible for the beautiful score.

Both 'Disappearances' and 'Hanging Garden' are a part of the artist's Global Tree Project, an international art initiative that seeks to open and affirm connections between audiences and the natural world.

Sincere gratitude to Towne Properties, who generously opened the Monastery for this community art project and made the space available for the filming.
