KSTP TV's Version of the Story
A student was hit and killed by a city truck near Central High School in St. Paul Tuesday afternoon.
According to police, a St. Paul Parks and Recreation truck hit a 17-year-old boy around 2:10 p.m. about one block away from the school, at Lexington Parkway North and Selby Avenue.
The teen was taken to Regions Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Someone pushed the boy into the street before he was hit, according to police.
Police don't know why the student was pushed and they are looking for witnesses to come forward.
The boy's name has not been released.
Police said the truck driver was going the speed limit and alcohol was not a factor.
Central High School is located on Lexington Parkway North and Marshall Avenue, near Interstate 94.
