  • Wonderful movie! Kurosawa is the best!!

  • I just watched this film via Netflix. Man, Kurosawa really took advantage of color for his first color film. The DVD has a documentary also which explains that Kurosawa painted much of the props because he didn't trust tahat the film stock would capture the color he was looking for. A visual masterpiece with great character development. The trolley freak is supposed to be Kurosawa (film freak).

  • I saw this movie in the 80s. Right now I am in Japan, and the trains really do go 'dodeskaden'. I've never forgotten this movie or that sound.

  • I saw this film a long time ago, and I thought it was great. I haven't seen any trace of it since.

  • @schizophrantic The movie is available on DVD from Criterion.

  • I LOVED this film! But it's true it was a financial and critical disaster at the time, and the great Akira Kurosawa himself tried to commit suicide as a result.

  • I've seen this film when I was about 12. I'd like to watch it again but I can't find it anywhere. :(

  • Akira Kurosawa is legend

  • A trailer for Dodeska'den...very cool!

  • Very interesting movie!
