    please explain to me how to appreciate his music/symphonies? of all the classical music I listen to I just can't seem to have the patience & maturity to sit through and understand/enjoy his symphonies.

    This has to be the best version I've heard, he draws so much sweat and blood out of each note. Contrast this with Norrington's bald and dry 'period performances' and the diffidence of Karajan.
