Alan Balinsky's full race S5 FC idles in the pits at Toronto Motorsports Park while the tires are checked and the car is prepared for lapping. The car is a full race chassis running a 13B NA peripheral port engine with RX-8 internals and a 51 Weber IDA carb.

  • rx-8 internals are awsome lots of advantages! 10.0:1 comp to start!

  • @josephrx2 But the higher compression has been shown on the dyno to offer no real improvement. The rotors are a bit lighter of course, but they also need to be machined to accept the older apex seals. No real advantage.

  • @aaroncake

I thought that the Rx-8 rotors can run more timing because of a differently shaped Bathtub

  • @boardinrider The shape is symmetrical like older rotors.

  • cool RX-8 internals thaqt what i want to do you think it would be agood idea to use RX-8 internals in a 13B-RE with the turbos removed and either a large street port or a bidge port put on it?

  • No. There's no advantage to using RX-8 internals.
