In this series, we see the adventures of Plastic Man, a man who was doused with acid which gave him the ability to manipulate his molecular structure to stretch and shape his body to any shape he wants.

I love how the phrase "greatest collection of villains" is punctuated by a giggling pirate clam. I mean that, he's awesome and I wish he wasn't just in this one cartoon.

landrykkb: you're dead right. By the 1980-1981 season, ABC cancelled Plastic Man from it's Saturday Morning lineup and the re-runs aired on CBS. Repeats of Plastic Man replaced the cancelled animated version of "The Dukes of Hazzard" on CBS Saturday Mornings and the following season CBS replaced reruns of Plastic Man with repeated episodes of the animated Tarzan and the New Adventures of Batman and Zorro that ran 90 minutes!!!!

I read somewhere that Warner Bros. was set to do a live-action,laden special effects version of PLASTIC MAN with Jim Carrey set to star in the title role, John Landis set to direct it,and getting Robert Zemeckis to produced it along with Ilya and Alexander Salkind(the producers of the original SUPERMAN movies) set to be released for the summer of 1998 that NEVER went into production. Imagine the boxoffice receipts and the phenomenal ticket sales that Jim Carrey would have brought in!

THE CLAM was the worst of the pathetic villains this show had. And THE CLAM was one of the top ten villains? Gimme a fucking break! Can you even have a fistfight with a goddamn clam? And this is how Plastic Man can save the world? Fucking stupid!

yep,PLASTICMAN ran for one season on 16 original episodes as part of ABC's Saturday Morning Schedule for the 1979-1980 season. By the 1980-1981 season, the show expanded to a full hour before ending up on the recycled land of repeated cartoon shows in 1981 when it ended up going to CBS.

Yep,Nash Knight that show came out in 1979. I was in middle school when this came out.
