In case you missed how the first half of the videos is a joke, here are some fun facts!!
.) Every clip in this video is based on a true story.
.) Before I got a boyfriend, I actually did spend my Valentine's nights watching sappy chick flicks and wallowing in self pity. I always thought that because I didn't have a boyfriend, something was wrong with me. Turns out I just hadn't met the right guy.
.) The entire Barnes and Noble scene is freakishly true. The only thing that was exaggerated was the use of the binoculars and the rolling on the ground. Other than that, I was quite the creeper...I apologize for my ridiculous behavior if either of the cute indie guys ever see this video.
.) Step Number Two is also a true story. However, I did not personally do this; instead the roles were reversed. Last year in my European History class there was a kid who actually did look back at me 73 times in an hour an a half....I know this because I kept a tally. What's worse; it didn't just happen one time. He did this every class, the entire semester, anywhere between 15-75 times. Yikes!
.) Step Number 3 is true to a degree. In sixth grade some of the popular guys on my bus were trying to find a boyfriend for their friend. They jokingly asked me if I would date him. That night I begged my mom to let me date this guy, only to discover I wasn't allowed to date until I was 16. The next day I foolishly told the popular guys that I "wasn't allowed to date till I was 16 but that I was allowed to hang out with their friend in a 'just friends' sort of way, as long as there was an adult present." Yeah...I was totally oblivious to the fact that they weren't serious.
.) The part where I played the sappy song and let the guy know how much he broke my heart was something my mom actually did with her crush in high school.
.) Single's Awareness Day. Take the first letter of each word and it spells "SAD," pretty silly.
.) Yes, I'm wearing a bib during the Lady and the Tramp scene. Judge me.
.) The streamers on the window during the Lady and the Tramp scene were from my boyfriend's room. My friends and I snuck over to his house the night before Valentine's Day and teepeed his room with over 75 balloons, six packages of streamers, confetti, window markers, and candy.
.) The guy who plays the cute indie guy's name is Joel. He's in a couple other videos of mine and he's single. Any takers?
.) The guy during the youth group scene is named Conner. This is the second video of mine that he's been in and he's a real trouper for all the crazy antics I subject him to.
.) I did not know the guys in Step Number 3. I tried asking out other random people, but the clips never came out right. I finally asked these guys if they wanted to be in a movie and they agreed, not knowing what I was going to do. So, although they knew they were in front of the camera, unlike the other people I asked out, their reaction is completely and totally unscripted.
.) It is impossible to find 14-16 year old Justin Bieber look a likes in the mall on a Friday afternoon. (Whatever happened to skipping school guys?) That's why the guys in the Justin Bieber scene look nothing like Justin Bieber. Blame it on the fact that I can't see anything out of my old glasses....
.) After thanking the guys in the Justin Bieber scene for putting up me with being a creeper I discovered they have a YouTube channel: Thanos Films. Check it out!
.) The song I cry to at the end is "Junior High Emo" by WIthout A Face. Check him out on Facebook and under waftv on YouTube.
.) The guy during the crying scene's name is Kevin. Also single. Him, Joel, and Joel's older brother Ben (who filmed many of the scenes and who is also in many of my videos) are in a band called No Big Deal. Check them out on YouTube: NoBigDealTheBand.
.) This was a tough video to make because the subject hits so close to home. I used to beat myself up for the way I obsessed over guys back in middle school and high school. However, I would not take any of it back. Yes, I often made a fool of myself, yes I got rejected often. But those experiences shaped me into who I am today. God has blessed me with an amazing boyfriend who I did not need to stalk or obsess over. God worked everything out with His perfect timing and I guarantee that when you offer your future love life to God, you will also be blessed beyond belief with an amazing person. Thanks Boyfriend for loving all my quirky charms and Thank You God, for blessing us with such an incredible relationship!
.) Bloopers from this video will be posted in two weeks on Monday, March 7th, 2011.
