  • "The Choirboys" is one of my favorite novels, and this is a brilliant interpretation of Baxter Slate's heartfelt speech on being a juvy officer.

    Some people argue that Slate was the best officer among the Choirboys. Others say it was Sam Niles. If you ask me, the Choirboys who was physically the weakest, Harold Bloomguard, was actually the strongest police officer. He was instinctive and loyal. More than any of the Choirboys, Bloomguard had common sense, a sense of humor, and compassion.
