It's the season of attack ads, and we thought we'd get in on the fun. Since many seem to be focusing on minor details of candidates' resumes, we figured pedantic must be what's proven. Plus, this is actually an annoying tendency of our governor. Or amusing tendency, depending on how you lean.

Anyway, yep, this really ought to win over that English teacher vote.

Also, props to Matt B. who pointed out Gregoire's diction tic.

  • that's just silly

  • Thanks for the feedback Tripp393. We're glad you liked this video. It's nice to know it can be appreciated a month after the election. Hopefully the superfluous 'literally's won't be part of the state's looming budget cuts.

    cheers,

    SU

  • I voted for her, and I more or less like her, but you're absolutely right! She's mangling the word "literally"!

  • Thanks for the feedback stingingnettles. We were pleased to see that our Winfrey caliber influence in Seattle didn't taint the democratic process too much. Fortunately, we got the Rossi one out in time to even things out. Blomstrom on the other hand might have to wait another year.

Furthermore, we would like to say that we actually appreciate this tendency of Gregoire's. It's her own version of spoonerisms and its the kind of human flaw we look for in our headmasters/governors.

  • That is pretty funny.

  • Thank you CIDaily. Amassing these clips was kind of an arduous task, but we sternly feel that our politicians demand mockery as much any others.

Anyway, this kind of positive feedback makes it all worthwhile. Actually, the feedback we get on the Prefontaine Press Conference REALLY makes it worthwhile, but this is more traditionally gratifying.

    peace,

    SU

  • still hilarious

  • POPPYCOCK!

  • You might need to do a re-make of this ad with Joe Biden, who has the same verbal tic. (I like the guy -- he had a pretty good record in the Senate, particularly on improving public transit. But he can be SUCH A DORK sometimes, with the verbal gaffes. Fortunately, he's not the guy that has to make the big speeches. *g*)

  • Gregoire is a dummy

  • I just wanted to add, as a note, that I am Australian and I have little knowledge of American Politics. However the misuse of English, the voice over and the "funny because it's true" aspect makes this video WIN WIN WIN

  • I've been watching this every day for 5 days in a row. I love it, and so do my friends that I have shown.

Hilarious voice over man. Just great. "poppycock!"

  • good comedy is timeless...and rare..which is why i need to savor this
