I think that people shouldn't rush to release captive orcas. They are too dependent on human contact. Corky shouldn't bew realeased she has almost no teeth, compromising her ablity to hunt. Orcas are social and shun outsiders. Corky hasn't been seen by her family in over 30 years. Also Corky is a adoptive mother to at least 4 orcas. What would they do without her?

Most of the whales in captivity now a days were born there. They would not survive in the wild because they don't know how to and the chances of a pond accepting them would be very low. So it's good that they just stay there.

Orca's are the most beautiful animals i can imagine. and i hate those people wo make fun of them swimmin in those small tanks and doin unnatural thinks.. it's not fair, they have to be free! -.-

However, i have to mention that i do agree with the point you made. i agree a 100%.

Its just you mentioned scientific studies. and i couldn't resist asking that question.

i am against captivity because i wouldn't like to be put in a prison. so i feel sorry for anything that has to live in an aquarium or tank or has their freedom compromised in any other way. my feedom is the most important thing i have. and i can't think of any other animal who wouldn't feel the same!!!

well the thing is, i have been studing orca(though no working with them directly) for the past 11 years. i have tons of stuff on them, including thousands of websites saved on my computer, (both pro and anti captivity), greenpeace reports, WWF reports, born free reports, books, seaworld statements, RSPCA and PETA stuff, dvds, tapes ect, zoo keeper forums, and i find out new stuff every day . i will look for the direct source you asked for but it might take a while. o.k.
