The exciting conclusion to Ricks adventure into the world of lutherie. Rick does an incredible job recovering from his previous, nearly disastrous mistake. He takes us through the final assembly as well as his finishing process, which involves a number of techniques including pore-filling, French polish, and wiping varnish. Congratulations to Rick and a huge thank you for letting me tear up your video footage. I know more than a few folks have been inspired to dive into the wonderful world of instrument-making.

  • Great Job Rick!!!! Way to GO... i wish we'll see you working on an acoustic steel-stringed guitar....i watched your video..and i was inspired...i couldn't imagine how happy your wife was when she got it.... Great Job!!!!

  • Hi Rick did you round off the nut at all in the string groove this can cause problems the string needs to connect with the nut and then exit the nut cleanly. don't round off the exit. Did you use string files to cut the grooves?Try another nut

  • You didn't mention the scale length when you cut the fret slots. Hope you got that right.

  • I would buy a wooden stand... it looks really nice. good job on the guitar as well

  • @bubble36 In the UK we call it a cabinet scraper.

  • Really enjoyed watching these three videos. Great job, Rick! And thank you for editing and making them available to us, WW.

  • Why you don´t cut the fingerboard before gluing...? I think this thecnique is very dificult..

  • What a great video ! thanks for sharing your experience with us

  • Wow, now i know why guitars cost so much. How many hours did you put into this total?

  • I just like the way he thinks positively when he encounters a problem.....it's always fixable!
