JCCC LUNA students wanting to attend La Raza Conference in San Antonio were blocked from traveling by air because two students did not have documentation. The whole group was blocked from traveling by car because of college policy.
Trustte Melody Rayl: "I'd like to address the student of LUNA briefly. ... I want to complement each and every one of you for the steps that you are taking to become productive citizens of our great nation."
Trustee Chair Jon Stewart asked Dennis Day about Kathy Brown's claim whether JCCC followed up and checked about the pursuit of citizenship by the undocumented but "legal" student.
Day: "All they are required to do is sign an affidavit that they are working toward that process. There is no follow-up in the statute."
Bull shit, they're illegal and can go back to their own country. Let their parents take them back and apply the way other international student do. Our colleges and universities have limited space, and that space should be for our own citizens and those who are here legally. Period!!!
