the flap is always on the tent, it only opens up sometimes. also the great trick is that the operational side goes to jail, or gets killed while the policy / law makers live to set policy again.

Ultimately, Italy, like Britain, is merely an extension of American hegemonic power - which is why nothing will come of these Italian investigations; no-one will be prosecuted. That much is certain.
(This is also why the new-found confidence of Russia and the 'New Cold War', as well as the rise of China, is a good thing; it is the harbinger of a more balanced, multi-polar world.)
