Maybe it is just me, but I swear I'm hearing Mr. Elton call Miss Taylor Mrs. Weston right there as she greets him. I've played it back a few times with the sound all the way up and it sounds like Weston.

Nothing really Jane Austen's work. Hers is truly romantic and very light hearted mostly.
But I do adore Elizabeth Gaskell's work. North and South, Wives and Daughters and Cranford, Return to Cranford are all superb imo.

I love how both the actors who played Edmund in the two versions of Mansfield Park are in this scene, and one of them actually IS a clergyman! Ahhh nerdgasm.
