www.sporting-scene.com - We look at the evolution of the sporting shotgun over the past 150 years, the development of great game shoot and the changes that have occurred to the present day. The Pheasant is the most common of our game birds and we look at the different landscapes and how the bird has adapted from being a marsh bird to now being found through the country and providing very differing shoots.

We visit Gleneagles Shooting School to learn the technique of shooting high Pheasants and visit a shoot in Scotland for a Driven day in mixed landscapes. Finally we go on a Driven Pheasant shoot on the flat fenlands, shooting wild Pheasant and see how the wild smaller Pheasant has the ability to produce spectacle sport.

  • not as cruel as chicken breeding, at least a pheasant gets a fighting chance of survival and at least 4 months of life, commercially bred chickens are killed at just over a month old.

  • Even Gordon Ramsey&Hugh fearnley-Whittingstall both shoot pheasants&the odd deer, for the meat,as Pheasant,Venison&the odd Rook, are quite popular in the gastro-restaraunt,it seems. How is that cruel in any way?Do they piss themselves laughing&pose for photographs, with the kill&rub blood on their faces?Watch the F word&Riverside Cottage, all you anti fools.I I wanted fresh meat from a bird,Id hunt wood-pigeons or Pheasants.Go away you stupid left-wing drips.By the way both men hate animal cruelty.

"Would you perhaps prefer if these men went out and hunted bears to extinction?"

The absence of wild British bears indicates that this event has already taken place, old boy.

    .

  • Would you perhaps prefer if these men went out and hunted bears to extinction?

Moron. Take your preaching to your syphilis ridden whore of a girlfriend.
