  • This is the best ever, and nothing will exeed this.Eleanor is matching him every inch of the way and even exceeding Fred.

The only thing missing is some romantic elements.

  • Fred and Ginger have their dances, but when it comes to tap dancing numbers, Fred with Eleanor can't be beat...it just doesn't get any better than this one; love the song and the entire production. I especially love the second dance, it's absolutely perfect! I watch it over and over. And how about those outfits on those boogie-woogie singers! I once asked my mom (85 at the time) about their costumes and she said, "yea, that was the style and we thought we were really hot stuf!!"

  • @MrMickmonk easily, if all they know is Nicki Minaj....

  • Scroll down and watch just their feet, especially in the second half. Amazing dancers, both of them.

  • @cbutler1968 ... and, yes, they really were.

  • This clip is particularly good because it has four separate interpretations of Cole Porter classic song. As Gene Kelly said when introducing this on one of the "That's Entertainment" compilations:

"Better enjoy this while you can, folks. You'll never see dancing like this again."

  • Eleanor matched Fred step for step. I once heard that Fred even admitted he met his match with Eleanor on the tap dance floor, which is why they only starred in 1 movie together. I think Fred was a bit intimidated with Eleanor but I will give Ginger credit...I've also heard, dancing with Fred Astaire Ginger would have to keep up with him but do it all backwards. Now "THAT" gets my respect. Ginger did it and so elegantly. Ellie was the best tho & to think she wanted to be a ballet dancer..

  • And they were perfectionists. There were some big band musicians that practiced 12 hours a day! Most stars could do all types of performing. Dancing, singing, acting. Real talented hard working people. ! Look at Frank Sinatra. He could do it all, and with a flair rarely seen since.

  • The big studios were the perfect vehicle for glamourous talented stars. And talent they had. They were treated like royalty and they gave the public something to feel good about. Much of which was during hard time before the 2nd world war. What a period in our history. I wasn't born yet but my folks lived thru the greatest time for dancers singers big bands . Heaven really.

  • how can anyone not like this

  • wow!!!!
