Ah Ya Shayal Al Alam - Sayyed Abu Ghaeeb

Sayyed Abu Ghaeeb Al Aliwi recites for the tragedy of Karbala, over 1300 years since the massacre of Imam Hussain (a.s.) and his family and companions. Imam Hussain (a.s.) is the grandson of the Prophet Mohammed (s.a.w.). Here Sayyed Abu Ghaeeb recites for Abo Fothlel Abbas (a.s.), the half-brother of Imam Hussain (a.s.) who gave everything he had away by being killed serving Imam Hussain (a.s.) and Islam. Abbas (a.s.) went to get water for the camp of thirsty women and children, and refused to drink despite days of thirst whilst his brother Imam Hussain (a.s.) was thirsty. Upon returning to the camp, his left hand was cut, and his right hand, and arrow was shot into his eye and he was hit on his head and thus fell to the desert sand dropping the flag. Abel Fothlel means "the father of virtues" Abbas (a.s.). This is because he displayed all the virtues known to man on that day of Ashoora (the tenth of Muharram), in Karbala.

Despite that Imam Hussain died over 1300 years ago, his martyrdom, struggle and tribulation is an inspiration to millions around the world today. Millions mourn and cry for him, as if he died yesterday.

This eulogy is a remembarance of the family of Mohammed and their struggles and oppression. The chest beating as just a cultural way of mourning, many different cultures have their own ways of mourning and grieving. Chest beating is like clapping, it has no significant harm to the body. The foundation of mourning the Holy Prophet Mohammed (saw) and his family, those who strived in the way of Allah (swt), represents joining them in their tragedy and creates a sense of grief ad sadness for them. Showing love for them is important, pure, and rewardable by Allah (swt), and is a command of the Holy Quraan:

قُل لَّا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا إِلَّا الْمَوَدَّةَ فِي الْقُرْبَى
(Surat 42, ayaat 23)

بالرغم من أن الإمام الحسين (ع) توفى قبل 1300 عام ، الا ان شهادته و جهوده و مأساته لا زالت مدرسةً للملايين . فالملايين حتى اليوم ، يبكون من اجله و ينعونه كأنه استشهد بالأمس فقط .

هذه اللطمية ذكرى لأهل بيت الرسول محمد (ص)و جهودهم و الظلم الذي اصابهم .
و اللطم هو طريقة تقليدية لإظهار الحزن ، و أساسه يمثل الإرتباط بأهل بيت محمد (ص)و مأساتهم ، كما يجعل جو الحزن . بالإضافة الى انه يبرهن ان حبهم امر مهم و نقي ..

Surely we belong to God, and to him we shall surely return

لاَّ يُحِبُّ اللّهُ الْجَهْرَ بِالسُّوَءِ مِنَ الْقَوْلِ إِلاَّ مَن ظُلِمَ وَكَانَ اللّهُ سَمِيعًا عَلِيمًا
Allah loveth not that evil should be noised abroad in public speech, except where injustice hath been done; for Allah is He who heareth and knoweth all things.

وَمَا بِكُم مِّن نِّعْمَةٍ فَمِنَ اللّهِ ثُمَّ إِذَا مَسَّكُمُ الضُّرُّ فَإِلَيْهِ تَجْأَرُونَ
And ye have no good thing but is from Allah: and moreover, when ye are touched by distress, unto Him ye cry with groans;

قُل لَّا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا إِلَّا الْمَوَدَّةَ فِي الْقُرْبَى
Say: I do not ask of you any reward for it but love for my near relatives;
(Surat 42, Ayaat 23)

ذَلِكَ وَمَن يُعَظِّمْ شَعَائِرَ اللَّهِ فَإِنَّهَا مِن تَقْوَى الْقُلُوبِ
That (shall be so); and whoever respects the signs of Allah, this surely is (the outcome) of the piety of hearts.
(Surat 22, Ayaat 32)

وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مُوسَى بِآيَاتِنَا أَنْ أَخْرِجْ قَوْمَكَ مِنَ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى النُّورِ وَذَكِّرْهُمْ بِأَيَّامِ اللّهِ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لآيَاتٍ لِّكُلِّ صَبَّارٍ شَكُورٍ
We sent Moses with Our signs (and the command). "Bring out thy people from the depths of darkness into light, and teach them to remember the Days of Allah." Verily in this there are Signs for such as are firmly patient and constant,- grateful and appreciative.
