I think this song is about how everyone is human and we all love our children. My cousin's dad is Russian and he has lived in The USA and Russia. He's very loved by both of his parents, and I think that's sort of the point of this song. We as humans want to protect our family regardless of what nationality we are. My social studies class discussed this song, and we thought that it meant the reason we didn't go to nuclear war with Russia was that they loved their children and wanted them safe.
