Grasmere Lake District

http://www.bridgehousegrasmere.co.uk - River Rothay Grasmere Cumbria on 19th November 2009 after over 15cm of rain! Believe it or not, the hotel wasn't flooded! The foundations come up out from the river and no water passed into the hotel. Bridge House Hotel sits right on the river and you can see it flowing underneath hotel bedroom windows.

I have recently had a stone set in the Wordsworth Memorial garden next to the church. Does anyone know how the garden has survived? It looks very much flooded in the video

You were right to ask though, because we lost our own riverside patio and flower bed in the deluge.

we where married at st oswalds and visit at least three times a year , grasmere has become our second family home now so this was upsetting but glad it was not as bad as they thought ... and i thought it might have been ! god bless you all .

Thanks for posting this video, i`d been living in Grasmere for 6 months in 2008, working in the wordsworth hotel, and i have great memories of that place!!! Regards from Argentina!!!
