As Happy As Ling is a magical and unforgettable story within a story based on simple truths. A depressed woman named Ling unknowingly becomes a lesson in a study of contrasts, her life a symbol for a deeper reality. It is a dark and spiritual love story, an ecstatic tale of tortured souls living among the imaginary people of an elaborate fable. Art becomes a bridge between heaven and earth, as Ling, the artist and teacher, transcends two worlds to show us that love conquers all.

When the effects of war tear a family apart, two teenagers, Cara and Alex, are sent to live with their uncle, Diego. Together they all search for the answers to life, which are all carefully hidden, along with the secret to Ling's happiness.
